There is a countless number of online Bible study resources – some are wonderfully, theologically accurate and informative; others not so much. Here are a few of my top online resources; over time, I will add others. These are excellent sources to help you dig deeper in your Bible studies.

From Blue Letter Bible “About”

  • BIBLE-CENTERED: the Bible is central to the study resources. The website is intentionally designed to include study tools that are linked directly to Bible passages.
  • POWERFUL STUDY TOOLS: Dig deep into the Word using commentaries, encyclopedias, maps/images and much more. One of the most used tools is the Lexicon search, which gives users immediate access to the original Hebrew and Greek words.
  • QUICK AND EASY SEARCH FUNCTION: Search Scripture by word, verse or multiple verses.

This easy to use site provides quick access to a world of Biblical study tools via your electronic device of choice; I particularly like the word search function, the ability to review and compare multiple versions of a verse on one screen, and access to the Greek and Hebrew words that provide added insight to the meaning of a passage.

From “About Got Questions.org” – “Got Questions Ministries seeks to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ by providing biblical, applicable, and timely answers to spiritually related questions through an internet presence.”

GotQuestions.org is a ministry of dedicated and trained servants who have a desire to assist others in their understanding of God, Scripture, salvation, and other spiritual topics. We are Christian, Protestant, evangelical, theologically conservative, and non-denominational. We view ourselves as a para-church ministry, coming alongside the church to help people find answers to their spiritually related questions.”

This is a great “go to” site to query with random, Bible-related questions; the responses can provide insight and perspective on a variety of topics. As with any search engine, the clearer, more concise your question the more likely you are to get an “on point” answer in response.

From “About Bible Gateway” – “Bible Gateway is a searchable online Bible in more than 200 versions and 70 languages that you can freely read, research, and reference anywhere. With a library of audio Bibles, a mobile app, devotionals, email newsletters, and other free resources, Bible Gateway equips you not only to read the Bible, but to understand it.”

Bible Gateway is another excellent source of Bible study tools, as well as, a great resource for materials that can assist and encourage personal spiritual enrichment and growth.

I encourage you to explore the FREE resources available through each of these online ministries. Find the tools that will best assist and enrich you in your daily Bible reading. Take advantage of the accumulated study, research, knowledge, wisdom, and prayer that have been invested in making this wealth of Bible information available to you as you “study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2:15 KJV)

“Blessed is the one…whose delight is in the law of the LORD
and who mediates on His law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither –
whatever they do prospers.”
Psalm 1:1-3 NIV
