A long and successful corporate career that included multiple relocations across the country, followed by an entrepreneurial period as the owner of an art gallery and art education-art supply store, and then one more, recently concluded, stint in the corporate world all added up to a lifetime of lessons learned the hard way and the realization that the noise of successes, enticements of sin and self, and the distractions of the world can easily fill our ears and deafen us to the voice of God when He speaks…

even when we think we are faithful Christ followers.

Over the past decade or so, God’s voice has broken through the clamoring noises in my life, shining a spotlight on those things that prevented me from clearly hearing His voice. With Holy Spirit enabling and active, prayerful attentiveness, one by one the noises of distraction are being silenced.  In that newfound, growing silence, God speaks.

As a women’s ministry leader, a student of the Word, a long-time Bible instructor-mentor for CrossRoads Prison Ministries, and a women’s small group teacher, my past writings have been focused on those to whom I directly minister. As I meet other women who struggle with the noises of life as I have and still do, I feel compelled to share what God has been teaching me.

It is my prayer that my “Living Ears Wide Open,” blog will encourage and awaken a desire in its readers to silence the noise and open their ears to the voice of God.
