My Christmas Prayer

“For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

My Christmas Prayer for You,

May the joy and wonder of this season fill your heart, bring a sparkle to your eyes, and a glow to your cheeks.

May your fellowship with family and friends be glorious – overflowing with laughter, love, and little ones’ gleeful cries of surprise and delight.

May it not be the shiny packages under the tree, or the goodies tucked in the stockings hanging by the fire, but the hugs and smiles and gifts of the heart that warm you most.

May every fragrance of the season, every snowflake that falls, every icy breath, and every star-filled night be reminders of the many blessings that are yours.

But above all else may you know within your heart of hearts that the greatest and most precious gift ever given – a gift with your name on it – is a gift that you must choose to accept.

This most priceless Gift of the Ages left His throne in heaven over 2000 years ago to come to earth as a tiny babe, born in a manger, surrounded by livestock, heralded by angels, welcomed by shepherds, and worshipped by wisemen.

Fully man and fully God – feeding the hungry; healing the blind, the deaf, the dumb, the lame, and the leper; freeing those enslaved by demons; stilling the storm; walking on water; raising the dead; rejecting no one; loving the unlovely; teaching the truth; and pointing the way to His Father.

Cruelly beaten, mocked, despised, rejected, and crucified on a cross… the Son of God willingly gave His life to pay the penalty for our sins. Buried in a borrowed tomb, He rose victorious over sin and death to give you the gifts of forgiveness, freedom to become the person He intends you to be, and life eternal in His presence.

It is my fervent prayer that if this Gift is not already yours,

You will choose to accept this most precious Gift named Jesus Christ.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the Only Son from the Father, full of Grace and Truth.” John 1:14

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
